S. Korean Authorities Should Respond to Special Proposal of NDC: Papers
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Papers Thursday urge the south Korean authorities to respond to the special proposal of the National Defence Commission (NDC) of the DPRK.

The NDC of the DPRK proposed to solve all pending issues, big or small, between the north and the south on the principle of independence, completely stop all military hostile acts of pushing the north-south relations to the brink of a war and create a peaceful atmosphere, and take practical steps for bringing about a new turning phase for reconciliation, cooperation and national prosperity, the papers note.

The special proposal fully reflects the sincerity and patriotic will of the DPRK to dispel the distrust and confrontation and open a new turning phase for the improvement of the inter-Korean relations, says Rodong Sinmun in a commentary. It goes on:

The DPRK's sincere and magnanimous proposal offers a good opportunity to put under control the abnormal situation prevailing in the relations between the north and the south at present and find a way out for the nation.

The south Korean authorities should drop prejudice toward compatriots and unnecessary doubt about them.

When the south side responds to the reconciliation proposal raised by the north side, not just doubting it for no reason, and both sides make efforts for the solution of problems, trust can be built and advance be made in the north-south relations.

The south Korean authorities should show their clear stand for improving the inter-Korean relations through their practical actions.

The prospect for the inter-Korean relations entirely depends on the attitude of the south Korean authorities.

Minju Joson in an article urges the south Korean authorities to respond to the special proposal of the NDC, with the correct stand to open the wide avenue of improving the inter-Korean relations by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation.
