Lao News Agency on Development of Friendly Relationship with DPRK
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The Lao News Agency on June 24 made a report titled "On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea June 24, 1974-June 24, 2014".

The news agency said:

Laos and the DPRK established diplomatic relations on June 24, 1974.

But it does not mean that the history of bilateral friendship has started since then.

The relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries were provided by respected President of the Lao people Kaysone Phomvihane and President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people, during the heroic national salvation struggle of the Lao people to liberate the country from the colonialists' rule and armed interference and achieve the territorial integrity. These relations have been consolidated in the common struggle to build a new society against imperialism.

These traditional relations of friendship have further developed under the deep care of Comrade Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Comrade Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the WPK, and Comrade Choummaly Sayasone, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

The two countries have supported each other materially and morally after establishing the comradely relations for the joint victory of the socialist cause.

Exchanges of many delegations including the high-level visits were put on a regular footing, deepening the political trust and friendly relations between the two countries.

The long-standing friendly relationship between the two parties, states and peoples will steadily develop for the common interests of the two peoples and the victorious advance of the socialist cause under the deep care of the top leaders of the two countries.
