Ramon Jimenez Lopez, president of the Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to hold political and cultural events including remembrance meeting, seminar and lecture in the regional countries to commemorate the 20th anniversary of demise of the President.
