DPRK Takes Measures against Flood Damage
Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- Anti-flood steps are taken in the DPRK to cope with the approaching rainy season.

A brisk work is going on to protect human lives and production means and social properties from possible flood and rainstorm.

In rural communities, big efforts are directed to cleaning out waterways and ditches and readjusting river and stream courses as well as to anti-land-sliding project.

In collieries and mines, an effort is concentrated on checking and repairing the drainage system and water pumps and other facilities in pits.

Similar measures are also taken in railway transport and hydroelectric production and other fields and at the sites of different projects, while the industrial establishments strive to store enough raw materials for continued production in the rainy season.
