South Korean Organization Accuses Japan of Its Moves to Deny Its Past Crimes
Pyongyang, June 23 (KCNA) -- The movement for reunified Korean nation in south Korea on June 20 released a commentary lashing out at the Japanese authorities' shameless acts.

The chief Cabinet secretary of Japan talked about review of the 1993 Kono statement and released a report on the results of a review of the statement on June 20, the commentary noted, and continued:

In this report Japan made an absurd assertion that the statement was worked out after adjusting wordings between Japan and south Korea.

In other words, the contents of the statement did not reflect the real intention of the Japanese authorities at that time and there was no choice but to use expressions admitting the responsibility for the sexual slavery, a bid to mislead the public opinion.

Finding fault with and nullifying the statement is little short of an effort not to admit its past crimes.

Japan should bear in mind that its honest apology and reparation for its past crimes are the only way of settling its inglorious past.
