Japanese Government Urged to Make Apology and Reparation
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- The Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps in south Korea on June 16 submitted to the UN Human Rights Council a resolution signed by 1.5 million persons demanding the Japanese government make an apology and reparation for the crimes related to sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army, according to south Korean KBS.

People from all walks of life have waged actions in demand of the settlement of the sexual slavery issue but the Japanese government has not responded to it, the council said, calling upon the UN to conduct positive activities to ensure that the rising generations may not suffer such pain again.

Expressing support and solidarity for the one hundred million-people signature campaign of the world, Amnesty International denounced high-ranking officials of the Japanese government for persistently making reckless remarks denying the sexual slavery or justifying it.

Amnesty International demanded the Japanese government admit the responsibility for the past crimes, make an official apology to the victims at once and make legal reparation.
