KCNA Slams Reckless Remarks by Candidate for S. Korean PM
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- Mun Chang Guk, candidate for the puppet prime minister of south Korea, talked a lot of rubbish in the past, sparking off a strong uproar among south Koreans of different social standings.

While giving a lecture at Seoul National University in April last he asserted "it is needless to force Japan to make an apology for the comfort women issue."

Addressing a forum marking the March First Popular Uprising in 2005, he let loose sophism that "the comfort women issue was already settled 40 years ago and it is proper diplomacy not to raise the reparation issue any longer as it had been settled."

This is an undisguised support and approval of the humiliating "agreement" signed between south Korea and Japan in 1965. His remarks are nothing but despicable rubbish talked by a crazy guy steeped in worship of the "yusin" dictator to the marrow of his bones.

The south Korea-Japan "agreement" was a product of extremely traitorous diplomacy as it was signed by traitor Park Chung-hee who tried to maintain the military regime with Japan's "economic aid" and the Japanese government devoid of any will to settle the past crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists.

Park Chung-hee, who was chairman of the "Supreme Council for Reconstruction of State" after the May 16 military coup, saw to it that the negotiations for signing the agreement was hurried, claiming that "if power is transferred to civilians, the national assembly will appear to create a difficult situation."

Meanwhile, Japan held a political bargaining with the sycophantic forces of south Korea in a crafty effort to cover up its crime-woven past by providing a paltry amount of money to them under the pretext of "economic cooperation."

As the then south Korean puppet Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade admitted in 2004, the south Korea-Japan talks and south Korea-Japan "agreement" did not refer to the settlement of the sexual slavery for the imperial Japanese Army at all.

The agreement was thus signed in a humiliating way, pursuant to the political strategy of Park's military regime and the Japanese government. It totally ignored the national emotion and interests of the Koreans.

Mun must know well the illegal nature of the agreement and blood and tears shed by the Korean nation owing to more than four-decade-long colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists as he supervised the media of south Korea in the past.

It is worth recalling once again that at least 8.4 million young and middle-aged Koreans were forcibly drafted and abducted by the Japanese imperialists before being hurled into the battle fields of war for aggression and slave labor sites. More than one million innocents of them lost their lives. A particular mention should be made of the fact that 200 000 Korean women were forced into sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army to be subject to all sorts of cruel maltreatment and humiliation.

The above-mentioned sexual slavery is the extremely brutal and most hideous crime in history.

Nevertheless, Mun talked the above-said rubbish 40 years since the conclusion of the south Korea-Japan "agreement." This proves once again that Mun is a spiritless fool bereft of national self-respect and soul and the worst pro-Japanese lackey.

The designation of Mun as a candidate for the "prime minister" is an intolerable insult to the south Korean people demanding Japan settle the crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past.

The settlement of the issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army is a national historic task to be carried out generation after generation.

The international community termed the sexual slavery enforced by the Japanese imperialists as an organized crime against humanity and war crime and has consistently demanded the Japanese government settle it.

However, the issue of sexual slavery has not yet been solved because of the persistent moves of the Japanese reactionaries to dodge the settlement of the past crimes at any cost. It is more attributable to the behaviors of such pro-Japanese lackeys as Mun siding with them.

The Korean people will never tolerate any act of embellishing and overlooking the Japanese imperialists' past crimes.
