KPA Service Personnel Tour Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt. Paektu
Samjiyon, June 5 (KCNA) -- Service personnel of the Korean People's Army (KPA) made a study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu. They visited the areas of Pochonbo and Rimyongsu.

The members of the study tour group who arrived at Pochonbo from Hyesan, Ryanggang Province on June 1 laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statue of President Kim Il Sung standing on the side of Karim stream and paid tribute to him.

They were briefed on the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site.

On June 2 they visited the Pochonbo Revolutionary Museum before going round Konjang Hill, Kusi Barrage, the command post for the Battle of Pochonbo, the then police post of the Japanese imperialists, the subcounty office and other places.

They held a bonfire gathering that evening.

Om Hyang Chol, chairman of the KPA Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, addressing the gathering, underscored the need to make sure that the flames which raged in Pochonbo will lead to the flames of the struggle for devotedly defending the leader and the country and for bringing the final doom to imperialism and achieving a victory in the great war for national reunification under the leadership of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un.

A shooting contest of the service personnel of the KPA who participated in the study tour took place in Pochonbo on June 3.

At a meeting to vow to take revenge upon the U.S. imperialists and the Park Geun Hye puppet group held prior to the contest, they expressed the will to make the enemies face the deadly strikes of the powerful revolutionary Paektusan army as they recklessly hurt the dignity and social system of the DPRK.

The study tour group arrived at the Spring Site in Poso-ri, went round the spring site visited by leader Kim Jong Il and crossed the Junghung Plateau that evening through an armed forced march.

It went round the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, the Konchang and Chongbong bivouacs and the revolutionary battle site in the Dam No. 5 on June 4 and 5.

The march to Mt. Paektu will continue.
