Application of Tuition-Free Program to Korean Schools Demanded
Tokyo, June 3 (KNS-KCNA) -- A rally was held in Itabashi Ward, Tokyo Metropolis on May 31 in protest against the exclusion of Korean schools from the tuition-free program for senior high schools.

Present there were members of the executive committee of the rally and the liaison council opposing the exclusion of Korean schools from the tuition-free program for senior high schools, Koreans in Japan and Japanese citizens.

Speeches were made by the secretary general of the above-said liaison council, the representative of the executive committee and other Japanese personages.

Speakers said that it is a manifestation of national discrimination by the state to exclude Korean schools from the tuition-free program.

They expressed the will to make the tuition-free program applied to Korean schools through more brisk activities of Japanese citizens.

Then followed speeches by the principal of Tokyo Korean Middle and High School, principal of Tokyo Korean Primary School No. 3, parents of students and Koreans in Japan.

They said that only Korean schools were excluded from the tuition-free program due to the unreasonable discrimination policy of the Japanese government, calling for pooling efforts in the actions to settle the issue of supporting Korean schools.

At the end of the rally the participants launched a demo.
