Unionists of KBS Enter into General Strike
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- The Trade Union of south Korean KBS and the KBS headquarters of the Media Trade Union entered into a joint general strike on May 29, according to the south Korean internet paper Voice of People.

At the ceremony related the strike held in Youido, Seoul speakers said they entered an indefinite general strike from the dawn of the day in demand of the resignation of the president of KBS and an apology of Park Geun Hye.

They noted that attending the strike were all unionists of KBS including journalists, announcers, PD makers, photographers, technicians, managers and directors.

It has been disclosed that Chongwadae and Kil Hwan Yong, president of KBS, were interfered in the reports about the ferry Sewol but those protesting against this are being labeled "leftist", they charged. They will fight it out though the KBS side threatened to take steps for discipline and layoff while talking about illegal strike, they said, adding: We will fight to make KBS not be neglected and ridiculed by the people again.

Then the participants staged a demonstration, chanting slogans "KBS president, no need. Kil Hwan Yong, step down" and "Park Geun Hye, make an apology".
