DPRK Students Prove Successful at Int'l Concours
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- DPRK students Kim Hak Hyon and Choe Kum Song proved successful at the international juvenile player and composer concours "Musical Art" held in Moscow from May 21 to 25. They are studying at Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Russia.

The concours was aimed to find out talented juvenile musicians and boost cultural cooperation among countries. It brought together over 340 students from the DPRK, China, France, Austria, Japan, Belarus, Ukraine and other countries.

Kim and Choe successfully represented music composed by Beethoven and Tchaikovsky with the playing of woodwind instruments on May 24 to be acclaimed by juries and audience.

At a closing ceremony they were most highly estimated in the category of instrumental ensemble.

Musical experts admired the rosy prospect for the development of the DPRK woodwind ensemble, saying that the DPRK students gave wonderful rendition as good as professional players.
