Moscow Photo Exhibition Opens
Moscow, May 29 (KCNA) -- A Moscow photo exhibition "History of Friendship" opened at the State Central Contemporary History Museum of Russia on May 27 to mark the 65th anniversary of the first historic official visit to the Soviet Union paid by President Kim Il Sung and the 30th anniversary of his official visit to the Soviet Union in 1984. It was sponsored by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

Seen on the red cloth hanging on the front wall of the exhibition hall were letters reading "Moscow photo exhibition 'History of Friendship' to mark the 65th anniversary of the first historic official visit to the Soviet Union paid by the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung and the 30th anniversary of his official visit to the Soviet Union in 1984." Displayed there was a gift he sent to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union on the occasion of his official visit to the Soviet Union in 1984.

On display in the photo exhibition hall were photos documenting the exploits of the President and leader Kim Jong Il, who forged the DPRK-Russia friendly relations and boosted them, and those of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Also on display there were works of the peerless great men of Mt. Paektu and other Korean books and photos introducing the real picture of Songun Korea and handicrafts associated with Koreans' skills.

Present at the opening ceremony were Novikov, first vice-chairman of the Science and Technology Committee of the State Duma of Russia and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Kalashnikov, first vice-chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the State Duma and secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Taysaev, vice-chairman of the Economic Policy Committee of the State Duma and secretary of the C.C., Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and personages of the Foreign Ministry, the Defense Ministry, the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, "Orchestra of the 21st Century" of Russia and other government bodies, political parties and organizations.

Present there on invitation were Kim Yong Jae, DPRK ambassador to Russia, and his embassy officials and members of the delegation of officials of the Workers' Party of Korea on a visit to Russia.

Taysaev made an opening address which was followed by speeches.

Novikov said the photo exhibition would mark a very important occasion of clearly proving once again the Russia-DPRK friendly ties with a long history and tradition.

Novikov recalled that after founding the DPRK Kim Il Sung visited the Soviet Union and met with Stalin and this became a groundwork for the great friendly ties between the two countries adding that the photos on display would help the Russian people know better about the exploits Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un performed for the development of the Russia-DPRK friendly relations.

Kim Yong Jae said the historic photos clearly bore witness to the undying exploits Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il performed by laying a strong foundation of the DPRK-Russia friendship and its good tradition, adding that Kim Jong Un pays deep attention to developing the DPRK-Russia friendly relations.

It is the consistent stand of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government to steadily boost the DPRK-Russia friendly ties in the spirit of the joint documents adopted between two countries, Kim stressed.

Speeches were made by different personages.

At the end of the opening ceremony, the participants watched the Korean documentary film "Eternal History of Friendship".
