New Penetration Rock-Drill Developed in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- A new penetration rock-drill was developed by the Central Mining Research Institute under the State Academy of Sciences in the DPRK, which has proved highly efficient in colliers, mines, tunnel construction sites.

In particular, it is regarded as powerful drilling equipment in the construction sites of power stations in tiers on the Chongchon River.

In this regard, Kim Su Chan, a section chief of the institute, told KCNA:

The penetrating rock-drill consists of 110-mm head, borer, rotary device and others.

Its penetration speed is 150mm per minute.

Its head is strong enough to drill up to 1,000m.

Its efficiency of work is equivalent to that of eight or ten rock drills.
