Pyongyang, May 23 (KCNA) -- Offshore farms in the DPRK are increasing the output of kelp.

More than 1 000 tons of kelp are produced on a daily average throughout the country.

In recent days, Pupho, Ongjin and Kumipho farms under the South Hwanghae Provincial Fishery Management Bureau on the west coast harvested about 15 000 tons of kelp.

The same is true of the fishery stations on the east coast. Kim Chaek, Ryongdae, Sinchang and other fishery stations and offshore farms are having a rich harvest of kelp through introduction of the advanced cultivation methods.
