Monument to Victorious Musan Area Battle Draws Endless Stream of Visitors
Taehongdan, May 22 (KCNA) -- An endless stream of service personnel and people is visiting the Monument to Victorious Musan Area Battle where the statue of President Kim Il Sung is standing on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the victorious Musan area battle.

The monument was erected on Taehongdan tableland of Mt. Paektu area on May 23, Juche 91 (2002). It has been visited by more than 1.4 million service personnel, people from all walks of life including those of Kim Il Sung University, Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport, Sangwon Cement Complex and Hamhung University of Pharmacology and school youth and children for the past 12 years.

The visitors laid floral baskets and bouquets before the statue of the President and paid tribute to it.

They looked round a sculpture in relief depicting anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk who conducted positive military and political activities during the then advance toward Musan area, a group of large-size subsidiary theme sculptures in relief showing the indomitable struggle of anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners with ardent patriotism, people reclaiming tableland and the present-day happy life of the people in Taehongdan, the Tower of Rifle depicting a rifle with a bayonet and a monument to the revolutionary activities.

They held before the Monument meetings to hear impressions of undying revolutionary exploits of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu and reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerillas, poem recital, etc.
