Members of Teachers' Union Hold Anti-"government" Rally in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- More than 6 000 members of the National Teachers Union of south Korea held a rally in Sodaemun district of Seoul condemning the puppet regime for its failure to cope with the ferry Sewol tragedy, according to the south Korean Internet paper Voice of People on May 17.

The speakers said at the rally that more than a month has passed since the ferry Sewol disaster occurred but what Park has shown was nothing but orchestrated sympathy and formal apology.

The only thing which Park Geun Hye did at the crucial time right after the occurrence of the accident when it was quite possible to rescue students was that she blamed public official servants, they noted.

They criticized the present regime for using its power not for saving the lives of the people but for helping capitalists meet their unlimited interests.

They said: We can no longer remain a passive onlooker to the society in which capital is put above human lives, no one is responsible for them and poor and weak people fall down, and will fight out till the truth about the accident is thoroughly probed and those responsible for it are punished. The teachers will take the lead in the actions for forcing the corrupt and incompetent "regime" to step down.

That day the participants of the rally issued a declaration urging the "regime" to form a committee for probing the truth behind the ferry disaster led by non-governmental organizations, institute a special law on it, take basic steps for preventing the recurrence of disasters and protecting the lives and safety of the people and stop the education for killing children.

At the end of the rally, the participants staged a demo.

On the same day, members of the National Teachers Union took part in an anti-"government" candlelight rally in Chongye plaza in Seoul and bitterly condemned the Park group for causing the horrible tragedy of burying hundreds of students at seabed.
