Japan's Bid to Revive Militarism Censured by S. Korean Organization
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Progress of south Korea on May 16 released a commentary in denunciation of the moves of Japan to revive militarism.

The commentary said that the prime minister of Japan at a press conference expressed the will to decide the main orientation of the bill to be amended if it is judged that the revision of the interpretation of the constitution tolerating the exercise of the right to collective self-defense is needed.

It went on:

Japan is trying to amend the Pacifist Constitution which expanding overseas military activities of the SDF and seeking its rearmament under the pretext of "coping with the situation in surrounding areas," "supporting U.S. forces in Japan" and "conducting activities of peace-keeping forces". This is a declaration that Japan would become a country which can fight a war by unbinding the last fetters.

Japan's moves to exercise the right to collective self-defense will escalate military tensions in Northeast Asia.

Worse still, the south Korean authorities are backing Japan's bid to exercise the right to collective self-defense and advance again toward the Korean peninsula while tightening military nexus with Japan such as conclusion of an agreement on military information.

Intolerable is that Japan is going to amend the Pacifist Constitution while distorting history and trying to grab Tok Islets, far from liquidating the past crimes of aggression.

The south Korean authorities should clarify the stand of resolutely opposing Japan's bid to exercise the right to collective self-defense and stop military nexus with Japan.
