False Reports about Ferry Sewol Disaster Slammed
Pyongyang, May 18 (KCNA) -- The south Korean newspaper Hangyore on May 13 carried an editorial "It is urgent to rescue sinking public broadcasting service".

The bereaved families of the victims of the ferry Sewol disaster demanded an immediate resignation of the president of KBS who failed to report the truth about the accident while reading the face of power, the editorial said, and went on:

Journalists belonging to the KBS Journalists Association also demanded the resignation of the president.

121 journalists of MBC released an apology statement on their false report about the accident and journalists of the broadcasting services in 18 regions called for independence of news report.

Employees of KBS denounced its president as a "person unsuited for the president of public broadcasting service," an indication how serious illness the broadcasting service is suffering from.

The news director of KBS unhesitatingly insulted the bereaved families as "hooligans" and another high-ranking official blared that "why will I pay a consolation visit? It is not necessary to express consolation for such persons."

These senseless behaviors made the public broadcasting service the one yielding to the regime.

If the public broadcasting service is not saved from the danger of sinking, it will be forsaken by the people forever.
