Spring International Trade Fair Opens in Pyongyang
Pyongyang, May 12 (KCNA) -- The 17th Pyongyang Spring International Trade Fair was opened with due ceremony at the Three-Revolution Exhibition House in the DPRK Monday.

The ceremony was attended by Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Ri Ryong Nam, minister of Foreign Trade, Kim Song Dok, vice-chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, Ri Hak Gwon, head of the DPRK Chamber of Commerce, officials in the field of trade, delegations from various countries and regions and diplomatic envoys and staff members of foreign embassies here.

Pak Ung Sik, director general of the Korean International Exhibition Corporation, made an opening address which was followed by a congratulatory speech by O Ryong Chol, vice-minister of Foreign Trade.

The speakers extended salute to the members of the delegations from various countries and regions which came to the fair with common desire to achieve independence, peace, development and prosperity.

They referred to the fact that thanks to the positive activities of the participants the fair is developing to be an international assembly of business persons conducive to boosting the economic and trade relations and promoting economic progress among various countries and regions of the world.

At the end of the ceremony the participants looked round products on display presented by companies of the DPRK, China, New Zealand, Germany, Malaysia, Mongolia, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Italy, Thailand, Cuba, Poland and Taipei of China.

The fair will last till May 15.
