40th Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work Marked
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place at the Ponghwa Art Theatre Tuesday to mark the 40th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's work "Our Party's Media Is a Powerful Ideological Weapon Which Contributes to Modeling the Whole of Society on Kimilsungism".

The work, published on May 7, Juche 63 (1974), comprehensively clarifies the nature, mission, action principle and duty of media based on Kimilsungism and the ways for implementing them.

Present at the meeting were Kim Ki Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the ministries and national institutions, and officials, journalists and media persons in the field of media.

Kim Ki Nam in his report said that the work is an immortal library as it gave scientific answers to the theoretical and practical issues arising in developing the media of the Workers' Party of Korea into the most revolutionary ideological weapon serving the purpose of implementing the leader's idea and cause.

He went on:

During the past four decades the idea and theory of the work have been successfully embodied under the leadership of the party and the leader, radically changing the appearance of our party's media and powerfully demonstrating their might.

The exploits of Kim Jong Il are being carried forward and developed by supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un made the historic speech "Let Us Hasten the Final Victory through a Revolutionary Ideological Offensive" at the 8th Conference of Ideological Workers of the Workers' Party of Korea. It is a noteworthy event which brought about a landmark turn in the media activities to successfully carry out the important tasks for the party's ideological work at present.

The reporter called upon the journalists and other media persons to become buglers sounding the advance for the final victory as those of the Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Army did.
