DPRK Pupils Place First at Int'l Concours
Pyongyang, May 5 (KCNA) -- DPRK pupil Ma Sin A proved successful in the 9th international piano concours named after Rakhmaninov held in Russia from April 21 to 24.

It brought together scores of pupils from the DPRK, China, Finland and Russia.

It was held in the way of matching the skill between 7-16 year-old pupils specializing in piano, divided into the groups of ordinary music schools and music colleges.

Ma Sin A belonging to the group of music colleges excellently played compulsory pieces requiring refined playing and representation to be highly estimated and acclaimed by jury members and music fans.

Ma was awarded the certificate of the first prize at a closing ceremony of the concours.

DPRK 7 year-old pupil Choe Ji Ye came first in the 2013-2014 Henle Piano Concours held on internet.

It brought together 47 pupils from the DPRK, Germany, China and other countries.

Choe was awarded a certificate according to the result announced by the jury on April 23.
