Anti-"Government" Actions Staged in 15 Areas of S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- Anti-"government" actions were staged in 15 cities and provinces of south Korea on May 1 with the attendance of members of the Confederation of Trade Unions and people from all walks of life, at least 50 000 in all, according to the south Korean internet paper Thongil News.

There took place a rally at the plaza of Seoul Railway Station with more than 10 000 persons attending.

At the rally speakers termed the ferry Sewol sinking incident as killings by the present regime and capital.

If the de-nationalization of public sectors including railways, healthcare and education and politics-business nexus are not warded off, such tragedy will repeat itself anytime, they warned.

They held that Park Geun Hye should be wholly responsible for the accident caused by total failure and incompetence.

They declared they would demand the present regime own all responsibilities for all socials problems including industrial disasters and part-time jobs.

The Confederation of Trade Unions noted it would raise an 11-point demand including the resignation of Park Geun Hye, guarantee of basic labor right, checking of de-nationalization and abolition of part-time jobs and a 5-point demand for the settlement of the ferry Sewol disaster and wage a more dynamic struggle in the future.

At the end of the rally the participants staged a demonstration.

The Federation of Trade Unions also held a rally and demanded the authorities take measures to prevent disasters.

It said it would stage an action to defend the rights of the workers including the issue of cutting down of working hours and wage issue.
