29th National Scientific, Technological Festival Closes
Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- The 29th National Scientific and Technological Festival closed with due ceremony at the Three-Revolution Exhibition House on Friday.

Presented at the festival were more than 600 achievements made in scientific researches and technological innovations including cutting edge technical products, equipment and production processes based on latest science and technology.

Drawing keen interest of the participants were proposals for boosting the grain production and putting various economic sectors on a scientific and technological basis including breeding new species of rice, making an effective use of marine resources in the agricultural production, producing locally available food for cat fish, etc.

Present at the closing ceremony were Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Han Kwang Bok, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and other officials concerned, scientists and technicians of relevant fields, members of the three-revolution teams and other working people.

Results were announced by the jury at the ceremony.

Special places went to five units including the Central Information and Communications Centre and the 618 Cement Factory and first places were conferred upon 21 units including College of Computer Science of Kim Il Sung University, Metal Engineering Faculty of Kim Chaek University of Technology and the Pyongyang Catfish Farm.
