Acts of Violating Freedom of Press in S. Korea Slammed
Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- The south Korean weekly paper Media Today on April 28 denounced the Broadcasting and Communication Committee and the Broadcasting and News Agency Examination Committee of south Korea for violating the freedom of press as regards the sinking of the ferry "Sewol."

According to the paper, the Broadcasting and Communication Committee formed a "team for handling the disaster" as regards the sinking of the ferry and worked hard to build up public opinion quite contrary to facts at the instruction of the puppet regime.

It said:

The above-said two committees let their officials perform a 24-hour emergency duty in a bid to limit public suspicions about the sinking of the ferry.

As regards the facts, the citizens' solidarity for reforming the media said that what media reported about the disaster is quite different from the facts because the "government" obstructs media's activities and the said committees are covering up or downplaying the case.

This is little short of an act of ignoring the freedom of media and the people's rights and media are reporting just as they have been "dictated."
