Present there were Pak Pong Ju, Yang Hyong Sop, O Su Yong and, Hyon Sang Ju, chairman of the C.C., the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, Ri Myong Gil, chairman of the C.C., the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, officials and employees of the mill and labor innovators and working people in the city.

Pak Pong Ju, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, made a report.

He said that May Day is a significant holiday fully demonstrating the revolutionary spirit and power of workers, farmers, intellectuals and other people of Songun Korea and boosting international solidarity with other working people in the world struggling for democratic freedom and rights and independent life by breaking the chains of capital.

As they were guided by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, the working people in the DPRK could successfully fulfill their noble historic mission and duty in the efforts to carry out the revolutionary cause of Juche and the socialist cause, the reporter noted, and went on:

Kim Il Sung made sure that May Day was significantly commemorated even in the arduous anti-Japanese struggle and took part in the first Pyongyang City mass rally marking May Day after the liberation of Korea and encouraged the working people in their efforts to build a new country.

The President visited the Kangson Steel Plant to meet its workers in the arduous postwar period and kindled the flame of the Chollima movement. He led the working people of the DPRK to perform miracles and feats in socialist construction in each period and stage of the revolution and construction.

Kim Jong Il rallied workers and other working people close around the Party with his politics of love, trust and benevolence and wisely led the popular masses' cause of independence and the socialist cause by dint of single-minded unity.

He made sure that May Day was celebrated as international holiday for the working people in the whole world from the Juche-based viewpoint, making immortal contributions to the global cause of independence.

Marshal Kim Jong Un is wisely leading the drive for building a thriving nation by firmly believing in the workers, farmers and intellectuals of the DPRK and giving full play to their inexhaustible mental power.

His love is finding a vivid manifestation in the Rungna People's Pleasure Park, Munsu Water Park, Masikryong Ski Resort, Mirim Riding Club, Unha Scientists Street, Okryu Children's Hospital, Ryugyong Dental Hospital, parks, pleasure grounds, vegetable greenhouses, mushroom production bases and other edifices for people's happiness successfully built in so short span of time in the Songun era.

Recorded in the annals of the Korean revolution are indomitable mental power and heroic feats of the workers and other people of the DPRK who have devoted themselves to the struggle for the country and revolution with hammers, sickles and writing brushes.

There are many countries and nations in the world but there are no such workers as those of Songun Korea who are displaying the independent dignity as human beings and leading a worthwhile life under the loving care of the peerlessly great men.
