Floral Tribute Paid to Martyrs on Army Day
Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong, the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery and the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery Friday, the 82nd anniversary of the Korean People's Army (KPA).

Seen on the wreath-laying stands of the cemeteries were wreaths sent by Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the KPA.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremonies were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Jang Jong Nam and other leading officials of the party, state and the army, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of the party, armed forces and power organs, Cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel of the KPA and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces (KPISF) and other people in Pyongyang.

The participants laid bouquets and flowers before the bust of anti-Japanese war Kim Jong Suk at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and paid silent tribute to the memory of the woman commander of Mt. Paektu.

Seen on the wreath-laying stand of the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong were wreaths in the names of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK. Placed on the wreath-laying stands of the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery and the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery were wreaths in the joint name of the Central Committee of the WPK and the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK.

Also laid were wreaths in the names of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the Ministry of People's Security, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, units of KPA, scientific, educational, literature, art, public health and media organs, party, armed forces and power bodies, city-level organs and farms in Pyongyang.

The participants paid silent tribute to the memory of the martyrs who remained intensely loyal to the idea and leadership of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and devoted their all to the sacred cause for the party, leader, country and the people.

They then looked round the cemeteries.

Wreaths were laid before the sculptures of martyrs, cemeteries and towers to the memory of KPA martyrs and at martyrs' cemeteries in different parts of the country on the same day.
