Memorial Service Demands Park Geun Hye Regime Step down in S. Korea
Pyongyang, April 22 (KCNA) -- South Korean progressive organizations comprising people of various social standings including the Society of April Revolution, the Solidarity for Progress and the Federation of Peasants Associations held a joint memorial service in Seoul on April 19 to mark the 54th anniversary of the April 19 popular uprising, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Thongil News.

Speakers said the April 19 uprising was a struggle for democracy as it signified a historic watershed that taught that independence, democracy and reunification were the only road for the nation to take.

It is deeply lamentable to see the "government" remaining incompetent to handle the issues related to the existence of the people though it promptly moves to ensure the security of its power, they added.

Democracy is being violated and suppressed by the "Saenuri Party", they said, stressing the need for the people from all walks of life to become a driving force and struggle for democracy and reunification.

Just as Syngman Rhee who was elected through the fraud-tainted March 15 election was ousted by the April 19 uprising, the Park Geun Hye regime which was installed through the fraud-marred election will be eliminated from the historic arena without fail, they stressed.
