Australia-resident Korean Singer Acclaimed at April Art Festival
Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- Kim Mi So, 28, an Australia-resident Korean singer, is one of overseas Korean singers who enjoyed popularity among audience at the 29th April Spring Friendship Art Festival held in the DPRK.

With her rich voice and passionate tone, she successfully sang songs "Ode to the Motherland" and "Ardent Desire" to be encored at every performance given at the Concert Hall of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun Conservatory.

She has been well-known among the people of the DPRK since the 23rd April Spring Friendship Art Festival held in 2005 for her perfect singing of song "It Is Only Our General".

After the performance given on April 14, Kim told KCNA:

Though I live in Australia, I've never considered my destiny to be apart from my homeland. Therefore I chose the song "Ode to the Motherland" as a compatriot.

The lyrics and melody of the song make all overseas Koreans yearn for the homeland with ardent love for it.

After my arrival in Pyongyang, I learnt the song "Ardent Desire", because I came to keenly realize how devotedly the people in the homeland are yearning for and following the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who are making a long journey of patriotic devotion for the country.

As an overseas Korean, I tried to fully depict their unanimous desire. But the audience gave me hearty cheers to me, encoring my songs.

My successful performance would have been unthinkable without their enthusiastic cheers.

Han Sung Su, her maternal grandfather and advisor to the Federation of Koreans in Australia, said:

I am much impressed by seeing the people of the homeland encoring my granddaughter with bouquets. Their joy makes me have high national pride and be fully determined to do my best for the prosperity of the homeland.
