A great number of people from all walks of life, youth and students were crowded in the areas along the Taedong River where the Tower of the Juche Idea stands and other parts of the capital city of Pyongyang including Kim Il Sung Square, Mansu Hill and Okryu Bridge to see the fireworks. Among them were overseas Koreans and foreign guests.

At 20:00 fireworks with beautiful colors were displayed in the sky amid the solemn playing of the immortal revolutionary hymn "Song of General Kim Il Sung".

Fireworks made beautiful scenery to celebrate the day of great fortune of the sun's nation, the great auspicious day.

People burst into cheers, seeing fireworks displayed amid the melodies of songs "Let's Sing of the Day of the Sun" and "Song of Mangyongdae".

The fireworks made the Tower of the Juche Idea bright, reflecting the might of the DPRK dignified in independence and prosperous in self-supporting and strong in self-defence and the epochal reality, the great fruition of the Juche idea fathered by Kim Il Sung.

Meanwhile, waterworks on the Taedong River added to the festive mood.
