Japan's Suppression of Chongryon Protested in South Africa, Austria
Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- A political party of South Africa and an organization of Austria strongly protested against the Japanese authorities' suppression of Chongryon (General Association of Korean Residents in Japan).

The Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of the South African Communist Party in a letter sent to the Japanese authorities on April 7 said that the decision to allow the sale of the land and building of the Korean Hall of Chongryon proved that the Japanese authorities' suppression of the Koreans in Japan has reached a very extreme phase.

It went on:

The court, which is called a supervisor of law execution in Japan styling itself a so-called "law governing state," abandoned its mission and made a "decision" for an unprecedented swindle in disregard of the Japanese law, judicial precedent of the court and practices of the auction procedures. This goes to clearly prove that it is none other than the present authorities of Japan who masterminded the decision.

Their illegal decision is a wanton violation of the dignity and vital rights of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan and a grave encroachment upon the sovereignty of the DPRK.

The Japanese authorities should stop their suppression of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan at once.

An Austrian organization said in a letter sent to the Japanese embassy in Vienna on April 6:

We urge the Japanese authorities to ensure the rights of the Koreans in Japan.

The Japanese authorities are trying to seize the Korean Hall of Chongryon.

This is aimed to stamp out the movement of the Koreans in Japan.

We urge the Japanese authorities to stop their suppression of the Koreans in Japan.
