Soy-based Dishes Popular at Cooking Festival
Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- The 19th Cooking Festival recently held with the approach of the Day of the Sun (April 15), the birthday of President Kim Il Sung, came under special public spotlight, with more than 700 kinds of soy-based foods presented.

Seen at the exhibition of soy-based foods held as part of the festival were various kinds of drinks, staple foods, hot and cold cuisines and cakes presented by restaurants in Pyongyang City.

What caught one's eye were boiled rice wrapped in fried bean curd, uncurdled bean curd soup and bean cake, which can be easily cooked at home.

The DPRK channels big efforts to bean farming and actively encourages bean foods.

The variety of soy-based foods is on the increase year on year with the steady improvement of recipes for the dishes.

The country opens exhibitions and shows for soy-based foods each year.
