Kyrgyz, Tajik Figures Urge Japan to Stop Suppression of Chongryon
Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- Kyrgyz and Tajik figures made public statements on April 3 and 4 denouncing Japan's suppression of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

A. Usupbayev, chairman of the Central Council of the People Unity "Kyrgys El" Republican Political Party who is chief of the group for the study of the Juche idea, condemned the Japanese authorities for making an illegal decision on allowing the sale of the land and building of the Korean Hall of Chongryon and persistently resorting to the moves to stamp out the dignified overseas Korean citizens' body of the DPRK.

He said:

The decision lashed the Korean people and all other progressives of the world into a great fury.

We denounce such an action and strongly demand Japan withdraw the decision at once.

Sh. Shabdolov, chairman of the Communist Party of Tajikistan, said that the hall has played a role of the diplomatic mission of the DPRK in Japan, in fact, making efforts for bilateral friendship and peace in Northeast Asia as there are no diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Branding Japan's act as a clear and gross violation of the dignity and legal rights of the Koreans in Japan, he urged Japan to stop the suppression at once.
