Rodong Sinmun Calls for Ushering in Period of Prosperity of Songun Korea
Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- It is the steadfast will of the army and people of the DPRK to usher in the period of prosperity of Songun Korea, true to the patriotic cause of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il under the leadership of the great Workers' Party of Korea, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in an editorial.

It goes on:

Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il were peerless patriots who dedicated everything to the building of a rich and powerful country all their lives with ardent love for the country and its people which no great man in the world could ever match.

Thanks to their energetic leadership, our country, once eclipsed in the world map, emerged a socialist power in a historically short period, demonstrating the nation's dignity and honor before the whole world century after century.

The on-going general offensive to usher in a new period of prosperity of Songun Korea is a patriotic onward movement to firmly preserve the immortal feats Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il performed on behalf of the country and its people and translate their last instructions into shining realities.

The editorial calls for eternally glorifying their patriotic feats, bearing deep in mind the awareness and mission of being descendants of Kim Il Sung and soldiers and disciples of Kim Jong Il.

It also calls for upholding with loyalty the idea and leadership of Kim Jong Un, the supreme leader of the party, the state and the army.

It underlines the need to intensify the work to apply Kim Jong Il's patriotism in practice.

It calls for thoroughly embodying the spirit of the 8th Conference of Ideological Workers of the Workers' Party of Korea.

It also underscores the need for all service personnel and people to intensify the drive to achieve the final victory in building a thriving nation under the leadership of the great party and successfully carry forward the patriotic cause of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu.
