Rodong Sinmun Terms U.S. Arch Criminal Escalating Tension on Korean Peninsula
Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, the U.S. Department of Defense made public a report on "quadrennial defense review" in which it said the DPRK's plan of long-range missiles and development of nuclear weapons posed a "great threat" to peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia and "escalated threat" to the U.S. as well. In other words, it means that the DPRK is a disturber of peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia.

Rodong Sinmun Friday comments that it is none other than the U.S. that threatens peace and stability and escalates the tension in the peninsula and Northeast Asia.

Citing the reasons why Pentagon provoked the DPRK again in the report on "quadrennial defense review", the commentary goes on:

The U.S. is set to deploy 60 percent of its naval forces in the Asia-Pacific region by 2020. To do this it needs an excuse. Therefore, Pentagon let loose the out-of-date and stereotyped theory of the DPRK's "threat and provocation".

The DPRK is the first target of the pivot to Asia-Pacific strategy pursued by the U.S.

The primary task of the U.S. is to rid the DPRK of its nuclear deterrence. The U.S. is well aware that it can never evade harsh retaliation from the DPRK in case it provokes a nuclear war against the latter.

Pentagon said in the report that the U.S. meets greater challenge in defending the mainland due to the DPRK's "ballistic missiles".

The DPRK is not a big country and it has no buffer zone.

The commentary terms the U.S. a shameless villain as it talks about "threat and provocation" from the DPRK.
