Popularity-winning Female Acrobat in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- The DPRK's physical acrobatics "A Horizontal Bar and Flying on Trapeze" won the Gold Elephant prize, the top prize, at the 3rd Figueras International Circus Festival held in Spain recently.

This piece of circus, performed by seven men and one woman, shows the bravery and wits of the Korean people through various movements and stunts of high techniques, including 10m-long flight, dual flip-flap with thrice lateral turns and quintuple somersault.

Heroine Choe Un Hwa smoothly performed the flying movement accompanied by dual somersault and dual lateral turn, one of the stunts that could be conducted only by male acrobats in the past.

Choe has so far made her appearance three times in international circus shows, including the Monte Carlo International Acrobatic Festival.

She began to learn acrobatics at the Pyongyang Acrobatic School at the age of 11, and has performed bar acrobatics since Juche 95 (2006).

She is now filled with the will to keep the world acrobatic champion.
