Week of Russian Film Show Opens in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 17 (KCNA) -- A Week of Russian film show opened to mark the 65th anniversary of the agreement on economic and cultural cooperation between the DPRK and the Russian Federation.

An opening ceremony was held at the Taedongmun Cinema on Monday.

Present there were Kim Jin Bom, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who is chairman of the DPRK-Russia Friendship Association, officials concerned and citizens.

Alexandr Timonin, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy were on hand.

Speeches were made there.

Speakers referred to the fact that the two countries have covered the road of steady development over the past 65 years, supporting and cooperating with each other in the fields of the economy and culture in the spirit of the agreement.

They stressed that the friendly relations between the DPRK and Russia are being carried forward under the deep care of supreme leader Kim Jong Un and President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

Then the participants watched the Russian film "Star".

A reception was given at the Russian consulate general in Chongjin on the same day.
