Halt to Joint Military Exercises Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in south Korea held a press conference in Kyonggi Province on Mar. 13 demanding a halt to the Foal Eagle joint military exercises for aggression.

It recalled that Aegis guided missile destroyer Curtis Wilbur and an Aegis destroyer entered into Phyongthaek Port to take part in the Foal Eagle joint military exercises.

It said that the joint military exercises are being staged with Aegis warships entered into Phyongthaek Port as core and the drill is applying "tailored deterrence strategy" aimed at mounting a preemptive attack on the north for the first time. It went on:

The U.S. destroyers' military exercises in the West Sea of Korea and the south Korean army's participation in them are an act of offering the Korean peninsula to the U.S. as its battlefields for aggression.

The decision to "welcome" the U.S. marines involved in the Foal Eagle joint military exercises is a treacherous act of providing money collected from the people as tax to the U.S. forces.

The organization demanded a halt to the Foal Eagle joint military exercises threatening peace on the Korean peninsula.
