Dismantlement of Intelligence Service Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations in Kwangju of south Korea held a news conference in Kwangju on March 11 in demand of the dismantlement of the Intelligence Service (IS), according to the south Korean internet paper Voice of People.

Speakers at the news conference said that south Koreans were greatly shocked once again by IS's fabrication of a spy case, an anachronistic action.

They called for disbanding IS to prevent the recurrence of such act as making innocent people spies.

The director of the Intelligence Service and the minister of Justice should be fired at once and the truth behind power bodies' interference in the election be fully probed, they held.

The chairman of the Kwangju Council of Christian Churches said that the recent false spy case was aimed to maintain the present regime, adding there is no reason for IS to exist any longer.

Regional organizations in South Jolla Province held a news conference in Ryosu City, South Jolla Province, on the same day, urging the dismantlement of IS.

The organizations noted that IS, driven to a tight corner, is trying hard to shift all responsibilities onto others and cover up the truth behind the case.

They branded IS as a criminal group and social evil as it fabricates all sorts of false cases making people targets of its political operations.
