Disappointment Expressed at Present Regime in S. Korea
Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- South Korean civic and public organizations expressed disappointment at the one-year office of the present regime on Tuesday, according to Yonhap News of south Korea.

10 organizations including the Citizens Solidarity for Democratic Society and the Citizens Federation for Economic Justice held a news conference at Kwanghwamun Square in Seoul.

They held that freedom of expression and rights to assembly and demonstration are trampled down by the power and commitments to people's living are forgotten, in fact.

The headquarters of the Movement for Democratization of Economy held a news conference near Chongwadae, declaring that even the word "democratization of economy" has disappeared.

The Bar Association for Democratic Society held a meeting at a hall in Jongdong to denounce the power bodies' interference in the election, suppression of trade unions and privatization policy. It disclosed that Chongwadae and the Ministry of Justice had persistently disturbed the probe into the truth behind the case of interference in the election.

The counter-measure against the Railway Trade Union's strike against privatization was a clear expression of crackdown upon trade unions, it said, adding:

The regime regarded trade unions as enemy and unhesitatingly cooked up false rumors and fabrications to disband them.

It reneged on the major commitments to people's living including treatment of the disabled. It is hard to expect the fulfillment of commitments made by the present regime.
