Day of Shining Star Marked at DPRK Missions Abroad
Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- Celebration events such as receptions, photo and book exhibitions and film shows took place at DPRK missions abroad between February 7 and 15 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il (Day of the Shining Star).

They included the DPRK missions in Beijing, Shenyang and Hong Kong of China, Cuba, Iran, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Italy, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Guinea, Angola, Egypt and Brazil and the DPRK permanent mission at the UN.

Displayed at the venues of the events were photos documenting immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

Exhibited there were works of peerlessly great men and photos and books introducing Songun Korea.

Participants in the film shows watched DPRK documentaries such as "The International Friendship Exhibition House" and "Four Seasons in Pyongyang".

The vice-minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba said that Kim Jong Il devoted his all to the building of a thriving nation and the independent peaceful reunification of the country, remaining true to the will of the President.

The chairperson of the Malaysian preparatory committee for celebrating the Day of the Shining Star said that Kim Jong Il passed away in a train coach while devoting his all to the country and people till the last moments of his life.

The chairman of the Italian General Investment Group praised Kim Jong Il as a great man for putting the dignity of the DPRK on the highest level despite the complicated international situation.

The Guinean minister of Agriculture said that Kim Jong Il was the leader of the world stature who performed immortal exploits for the human cause of independence.

An Angolan minister said that the great revolutionary exploits of Kim Jong Il would always go down in history.
