Koreans in Russia Urge S. Korea to Opt for Mending Inter-Korean Relations
Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- The United Confederation of Koreans in Russia released a statement titled "The U.S. and south Korean authorities should act in harmony with a climate for improving the north-south relations" on February 24.

The statement said:

The spring of reconciliation and dialogue comes thanks to the initiative proposals of the DPRK.

Koreans in the north and the south and overseas support the reunion of separated families and relatives and hope that there would be no antagonism and enmity between the compatriots any longer.

But, south Korea still does not keep the mutual agreement, sparking deep concern and disappointment among overseas Koreans.

The south Korean authorities finally kicked off the joint military exercises with the U.S. and do not completely halt acts of slandering the north.

This can never benefit south Korea.

One should respond to the call for reconciliation with correct understanding and proper acts.

The south Korean authorities should clearly see the trend of times and the aspiration of all fellow countrymen and respond with genuine attitude to the expectation of the Korean nation and conscience of the world desirous of the peace and stability on the Korean peninsula.

We fully support the positive proposals of the DPRK for improving the inter-Korean relations and call upon the south Korean authorities to unhesitatingly opt for leading hard-won atmosphere of reconciliation to the wide-ranging dialogue and cooperation with reasonable judgment, concluded the statement.
