DPRK Takes Preventive Measures against Bird Flu
Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) -- The DPRK government has taken measures to prevent avian influenza virus H7N9 that is arousing serious concern around the world.

It banned the import of birds and poultry from those countries and regions attacked by this influenza while tightening the quarantine and anti-epidemic work for passengers and crew of vehicles, trains and cargo ships.

A step was taken to make a detailed control over the poultry and bird-breeding units and conduct intensive hygienic information service and check-up there.

All families are obliged to cage fowl, duck, dove and other birds and poultry.

A sharp lookout has been kept for movements of migrants, with a system set up to report obscure death of bird to relevant organs.

Meanwhile, a work was meticulously organized to intensify the citizens' physical training. And local media report about the outbreak of bird flu and steps taken against it in other countries and methods of prevention.
