Many People Visit Kim Jong Il's Birthplace in Mt. Paektu
Samjiyon, February 12 (KCNA) -- An endless stream of service personnel and people are visiting the secret camp in Mt. Paektu, the holy place of the revolution, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

The secret camp in Mt. Paektu is the secret base where President Kim Il Sung built a central leadership base of the Korean revolution and used it as the centre for activities of the main unit of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army in the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, holy place of the revolution where leader Kim Jong Il was born and a place associated with the immortal exploits of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.

There are various revolutionary historic sites including the log cabin of the headquarters where the President stayed, the log cabin where Kim Jong Il was born, shallow well used by Kim Jong Suk, revolutionary slogans which she personally wrote on barked trees and lodging quarters for guerrillas.

In February the number of visitors to the birthplace of Kim Jong Il in the Paektusan Secret Camp is on the daily increase. They include service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and members of study tour groups of the Ministry of Railways, the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and school youth and children from across the country.

After reaching the Sobaeksu Valley, service personnel, people from all walks of life and school youth and children placed floral baskets and flowers before the mosaic depicting the three commanders of Mt. Paektu and paid tribute to them.

In front of the monument inscribed with the poem "Shining Star" personally written by the President they were deeply impressed to listen to the explanation about how he personally wrote it in praise of Kim Jong Il.

They visited Kim Jong Il's birthplace with Jong Il Peak towering high behind it. They held oath-taking meetings at which they renewed their resolution to remain true to the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un and steadfastly carry forward the bloodline of Juche and revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu.

They toured various places to deeply learn about the revolutionary careers of the brilliant commanders of Mt. Paektu and their undying feats.
