Rodong Sinmun Calls for Fiercely Raising Flames of Ideological Revolution
Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Wednesday carries an editorial on the lapse of 40 years since leader Kim Jong Il kindled the torch of editorial revolution in the organ of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The editorial says:

Editorial revolution was a grandiose prelude to media revolution and a gunfire which greatly encouraged all the people to the drive for the great socialist construction.

Media of the DPRK are loyal mouthpieces, staunch defenders, powerful propagandists and close educators upholding the idea and cause of the party with writing brush and mike.

The present ideological campaign, information service and agitation are the general offensive of media which the media sector including papers, news agency and radios should steer as the standard-bearer.

Only when media seethe with revolutionary ardor, can the ideological front be bubbled with enthusiasm and the whole country advance with the revolutionary zeal and high spirit.

Whether the remarkably surging enthusiasm of the army and people of the DPRK leads to heroic exploits and the grand idea and determination of the party are translated into a brilliant reality or not mainly depends on the role of media persons defending the outpost of the ideological front of the party.

Nothing can substitute for the forerunners' role of media in imbuing the whole party and society with the monolithic idea, revolutionary idea of the leader only, making the leader and the people link with the one blood vessel and instilling indomitable spirit of the uninterrupted revolution into all service personnel and people.

When media make the whole country replete with the death-defying spirit of doing anything when the party is determined, strong belief that we will go ahead of the world with our efforts and technology as early as possible and indomitable spirit pulling through the manifold ordeals and difficulties, the country can make a leap forward higher and faster.
