Jose Miguel Mejia, secretary general of the movement who is minister of Government of Dominica, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

He said at the inaugural ceremony that it is the proud tradition of the movement to form the preparatory committee to celebrate the birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il every year, and went on;

It is also an expression of reverence and obligation to the great leader who devoted himself to the prosperity and independent reunification of Korea and the development of the world progressive forces.
