Paektusan Prize Sports Contest of Officials of National Institutions Closes
Pyongyang, February 11 (KCNA) -- The 19th Paektusan Prize Sports Contest of Officials of National Institutions closed with due ceremony at Pyongyang Indoor Stadium on Tuesday. It opened on Jan. 23.

The players competed in five events, divided into four groups.

Kim Il Sung Higher Party School, Ministry of Railways, General Bureau of Pleasure Park and Mansudae Art Studio won the title in the women's basketball event while the Ministry of Railways, Foreign Trade Bank, Taesong Guidance Bureau and Mansudae Art Studio came first in the men's basketball event.

Kim Il Sung Higher Party School, Foreign Trade Bank, Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and Mansudae Art Studio took the first in the women's volleyball event. The Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, Foreign Trade Bank, Taehung Guidance Bureau and Mansudae Art Studio became winners in the men's volleyball event.

Kim Il Sung Higher Party School, Ministry of Electric Power Industry, Maritime Administration of the DPRK and Foreign Languages Publishing House came first in the Taekwon-Do matches. The Ministry of Food and Consumer Goods Industries, Ministry of Food Procurement and Administration, Taesong Bank and Central Broadcasting Committee of Korea took the first in the table tennis matches while the State Planning Commission, Ministry of Foreign Trade, Taehung Guidance Bureau and Mansudae Art Studio won the tug-of-war event.

Kim Il Sung Higher Party School, Ministry of Railways, Foreign Trade Bank, and Mansudae Art Studio placed first in total points.

Present at the closing ceremony were Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier and chairman of the State Planning Commission, Ri Yong Su, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Hyon Sang Ju, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, Ri Jong Mu, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, and officials and players of commissions, ministries and national institutions.
