Meeting of Agricultural Workers Held
Pyongyang, February 11 (KCNA) -- A meeting of agricultural workers and members of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) took place here on Tuesday to mark the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

Ri Myong Gil, chairman of the Central Committee of the union, made a report to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said that Kim Jong Il brought about epochal changes unprecedented in the national history spanning five thousand years in all fields of politics, military affairs, economy and culture with his energetic leadership and revolutionary practice for a long period.

Under his wise guidance the fields of co-op farms were face-lifted, nature-driven waterways built and the mass movement such as socialist emulation made headway, bringing about a decisive turn in agricultural production, they noted.

They referred to the fact that Marshal Kim Jong Un opened a new chapter for accomplishing the cause of perpetuating the memory of the leader and consolidated the single-minded unity of the party and revolutionary ranks in every way, providing a sure guarantee for successfully carrying out the idea and cause of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

They called on agricultural workers and members of the union to devotedly carry out the agricultural policies of the party in hearty response to the letter sent by Kim Jong Un to the participants in the National Conference of Subworkteam Leaders in the Agricultural Sector.

Present at the meeting were Ri Yong Su, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, officials of the Central Committee of the union and its officials in Pyongyang and agricultural workers.
