Crucial Proposal, Open Letter of NDC of DPRK Supported by Organizations, Personages of Russia
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Organizations and figures of Russia issued joint statements on January 27 and 28 in support of the crucial proposal and open letter of the National Defence Commission (NDC) of the DPRK.

Four organizations including the Paektusan Taekwon-Do Club, a regional sports social organization, in a statement said that the NDC of the DPRK sent the crucial proposal to the south Korean authorities in order to pave a wide avenue for improving the north-south relations by concerted efforts of the Korean nation.

The DPRK's crucial proposal calling for taking practical measures for stopping slandering each other and halting all military hostile acts is a realistic one for mending the north-south ties, ensuring peace on the Korean peninsula and bringing earlier the country's reunification, the statement said, and went on:

It is a very just self-defensive measure that the DPRK is bolstering up its nuclear deterrence to ensure the national security and peace of the country against the U.S. nuclear threat.

We fully support the crucial proposal of the NDC of the DPRK.

Semyonov, chairman of the Russian Association for Development of Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries, writer Abzeyeva, composer Sharin and others said that the DPRK is advancing along the road chosen by it, not threatening any country. It is also making every possible effort for national reconciliation and reunification, they noted.

They supported the DPRK's efforts for peace and reunification of the Korean peninsula. They demanded the south Korean authorities, political parties and organizations positively respond to the open letter.
