Day of Shining Star to Be Celebrated in Kuwait

Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- A Kuwaiti preparatory committee for celebrating the birth anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il (Day of the Shining Star) was inaugurated on Jan. 26.

Yousfe Al Amiri, president of the Kuwait House of Works who doubles as chairman of the Kuwait-DPRK Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee set the celebration period from Jan. 26 to Feb. 17, and decided to give wide publicity to the exploits of Kim Jong Il and organize colorful political and cultural events during the period.
