Birth Anniversary of Kim Jong Il Observed in Benin, Nigeria
Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) -- Events took place in foreign countries in the run-up to the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

A meeting and film show were held by the Socialist Party of Benin, a lecture and film show by the Nigerian Group for the Study of the Songun Politics and a photo exhibition by the Art and Cultural Council of the Ministry of Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria between January 24 and February 1.

Displayed in the photo exhibition were photos documenting the revolutionary career and immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il and photos introducing achievements made by the service personnel and people of the DPRK in the drive to build a thriving nation.

The participants of the film show watched Korean films.

The vice-president of the Socialist Party of Benin said in his speech that Kim Jong Il consolidated the politico-ideological position of the DPRK as firm as a rock and ushered in a new era of building a thriving socialist nation.

Ahmed Blaza Lawan, chairman of the Nigerian Group for the Study of the Songun Politics, in a lecture said Kim Jong Il gave scientific and lucid answers to the theoretical and practical matters arising in the revolution and construction with his rare insight and performed great ideological and theoretical exploits.

A director of the Art and Cultural Council of the Ministry of Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria said in a speech at the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition that the exploits of Kim Jong Il would be always remembered by progressive mankind.

A message of greeting to supreme leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting held in Benin.
